This role provides the opportunity to solve hard problems by constructing ML based solutions for our product. While data science skills are good, this role is unlikely to participate in building models; rather, will be engineering focused on solving hard problems using existing models. This role interacts directly with the CTO and engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement critical solutions using open source models and ML ingenuity
- Problems include xxxx, yyyy, zzz,
- Participate as a member of the engineering team delivering key capabilities in our product
- Introduce new ways of problem solving to the engineering team
- Participate in design of application architecture
You:
- Given an analysis problem, know what techniques are most likely to work and, if not, know how to research them efficiently.
- Know Python and the Python ecosystem very well
- Are familiar with ML problem solving and the various model ecosystems that support it.
- Are an avid lover of Hugging face and open source models
- Understand how to test solutions for accuracy and performance
- Understand MLops and the importance of repeatable outcomes
- Are comfortable with non-deterministic systems and making them perform well
- Are driven by solving hard problems that clear the way for product and team success
